INTRODUCTION

SOLTI is a network of oncology services around Spain and Portugal. Since 1995, this network is a scientific non-profit organization, registered in Spain.
The SOLTI headquarters is in Madrid, in the SEOM address, and administrative headquarters is in Sabadell (Barcelona). The group is formed by a General Meeting with more than 50 members, all of them specialists in Medical Oncology, working in most of thirty institutions. The scientific management is leaded by a Scientific Committee, attended by three subcommittees: Tumours HER2+, RRHH+ and other tumours, respectively.
The running of the association is the responsibility of a Board of Directors, formed by a President, an Honorific President, a Treasurer, a Scientific Committee Coordinator and 6 members. In addition, the group has a manager in charge of the running of the administration, economics, human resources and operative areas.
SOLTI has an Operations Office, made up of a Head of clinical operations, clinical trial managers, clinical trial monitors, clinical trial assistants and 2 clinical trial secretaries. The responsibilities of the Office are to plan, coordinate, start, follow-up, monitor, and elaborate the final report and the clinical trial manuscript.
The SOLTI Networking is integrated by a Coordinator and a Director of Networking. The activities of the Director of Networking go directed to increase the number and to improve the satisfaction of their associates, to invigorate the group activities, their scientific production and the visibility of SOLTI in the national and international forums and to answer and to satisfy the demands of their associates, so that they obtain the added value who hope of the group: the opportunity to access the best innovative and complex trials that could eventually lead to breakthroughs in cancer research as well as the portfolio that could make the difference to each of their patients.
To achieve our goal we count on with:
• an exceptional support from the operations office
• a strong sense of community and participative setup
• the opportunity to project the career internationally through the participation in important publications
The group publishes a quarterly Newsletter, GACETA SOLTI, to maintain informed all the members into the activities of the group, the evolution of the clinical studies, and a forum of discussion between his members. The SOLTI Web, www.gruposolti.org, is designed for the internal communication and external diffusion of SOLTI activities. Since 2005 SOLTI has organised the SOLTI Award for the Clinical Research in Breast Cancer, with a 40,000 Eur monetary prize.
